Over £4m of new hydrogen testing contracts have been secured within the Centre for Advanced Low-Carbon Propulsion Systems (C-ALPS). Element 2 has partnered with C-ALPS to guarantee the centre has the quantity of low carbon Fuel Cell grade (ISO 14687) hydrogen it needs to meet demand.
Tevva’s testing and development of its hydrogen-electric truck continues apace. The Tevva engineers stopped off for hydrogen refuelling at Element 2 in Teesside on the first leg of the journey, as well as an earlier stop in the midlands. Element 2 is currently building a national infrastructure of hydrogen refuelling sites.
Today, Electra Commercial Vehicles (Electra), announced the successful completion of a three-month trial supporting major UK supermarket Sainsbury’s with its zero-emissions 19-tonne refrigerated hydrogen-powered truck.
Element 2, the UK’s leading hydrogen refuelling business, has today announced a partnership with Tower Group to provide access to hydrogen for road transport in the South West of England. St Helens Council and FAUN Zoeller yesterday announced the arrival of the UK’s first custom-built, hydrogen-fuelled waste collection vehicle, fuelled by Element 2.
Element 2 has been awarded ISO 9001-2015 and ISO 14001-2015 certifications by QMS International for its Quality Management Systems (QMS) in the provision of hydrogen refuelling services.
Andy Slater has been appointed as Element 2's new Head of Engineering and Asset Management. He will lead the firm’s engineering strategy alongside managing the safe and timely deployment and operation of Element’s portfolio of refuelling stations.
Under the multi-year agreement, XPO will begin by transporting hydrogen fuel from partner production sites to Element 2 refuelling stations in the North and Midlands regions.
The Yorkshire and Cumbria sites will become the first public service stations in the UK to provide hydrogen refuelling services for hydrogen-powered Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs).
The partnership will see Element 2 supply hydrogen fuel, hydrogen storage and hydrogen pumps at mobile and fixed hydrogen refuelling stations for Riversimple’s existing and future customers.
